Thompson Automotive Machine is a complete engine machine shop located in Nanaimo B.C. Started in 1972 by the now retired Jim Thompson, the company has been in operation serving Vancouver Island’s diesel and gasoline engine rebuilding requirements ever since.

However, after 52 years of rebuilding engines, boring cylinders, grinding valves, grinding crankshafts, and machining assorted motor components for thousands of Vancouver Islanders, the owners are retiring. Thompson Machine in Nanaimo is closing the doors.

Thank you to the forestry and fishing industries of Vancouver Island, BC and federal government departments, V.I. school districts, V.I. municipalities, independent engine shops and garages, vehicle dealers, boaters, hot- rodders, stock car teams, and vintage vehicle owners.

Thompson Machine is closed to the public after February 2nd 2024.
